Penn State vs. Wisconsin

Last Saturday's game, Penn State ranked sixth, delivered their most impressive performance of the season smashing No. 24 Wisconsin, 48-7, away in Camp Randall Stadium.
The victory moved the Nittany Lions to 7-0 overall and 3-0 in the Big Ten, atop the conference standings with Michigan State and Ohio State. This was the first Penn State defeated a ranked team on the road since beating No. 19 Wisconsin in 2002. Penn State is 7-0 for the 11th time under Joe Paterno and is off to its best start since the 1999 team began 9-0.

Junior quarterback Daryll Clark delivered another dominating performance, throwing for a career-high 244 yards and a touchdown and running for a pair of scores for the first time in his career. Clark was 16 of 25, with a 44-yard touchdown pass to Deon Butler and just his second interception of the season. He has 10 touchdown passes and two picks this year.

Wide receiver Derrick Williams gave the Lions great momentum in the second quarter, returning a punt 63 yards for his third kick return score of the season to make it 17-0. Williams has five career kick return scores, the most of any player in the Joe Paterno era.

Senior wide receiver Deon Butler made three receptions for 70 yards, including a 44-yard touchdown catch in the third quarter.

Senior wideout Jordan Norwood made three catches for 59 yards in his return to the field after being injured for 2 games with a strained hamstring.

Sophomore tailback Evan Royster gained a game-high 60 yards on 14 carries to lead the Penn State rushing attack. His 60 yards were an exceptionally high amount considering all of the 244 yards passing that went on the whole game. PSU made poor Wisconsin look like a bunch of Pee-Wee football kids that game. This week we'll take on 2-4 U of M back in Happy Valley.

Steelers vs. Ravens

Appearing in their throwback jerseys on Monday night, the Black n' Gold played a terrible first half of the game. QB, Ben Roethlisberger couldn't get any help from the O-line and was constantly under pressure leaving him with no time to get anything going. But once the second half began, we saw a whole different team. With little time left, we were up 20-13 but the Ravens still found a way to respond-for the last time. The game went into overtime and Baltimore received. The Steelers still got the ball back and kicker, Jeff Reed, sealed the deal with a 46 yard field goal giving us a 23-20 final score. The Steelers move to 3-1 and will travel to Jacksonville this week to take on the Jaguars at 8:15 on Sunday.

Steelers Pick Up RB, Najeh Davenport

After losing Willie Parker to a temporary knee-sprain injury last week in practice and rookie, Rashard Mendenhall, for the season with a shoulder injury; they got back runningback Najeh Davenport this week. Davenport signed with the Steelers on Wednesday and was out on the practice field that afternoon ready to go.

Penn State vs. Illinois

Senior wide receiver Derrick Williams delivered an amazing performance to lead No. 12 Penn State to a 38-24 win over No. 22 Illinois in front of a raucous Penn State White Out throng in Beaver Stadium.
A co-captain, Williams gained a career-high 241 all-purpose yards, scoring three touchdowns - off a run, reception and an electrifying 94-yard kickoff return on the first play of the fourth quarter.
The Nittany Lions improved to 5-0 overall and 1-0 in Big Ten play. The Lions have won 36 of their past 45 games, good for sixth-best nationally over that span. Penn State has won 24 of its 26 games in Beaver Stadium during the 45-game span.
Williams became the first player in the Joe Paterno era to score a rushing touchdown, a receiving touchdown and a kick return touchdown in the same game. His 241 all-purpose yards (33 rushing, 75 receiving and 133 on kick returns) yards were the most by a Nittany Lion since Larry Johnson gained 289 yards (279 rushing, 10 receiving) vs. Michigan State in 2002. Williams' previous high for all-purpose yards was 151 vs. Purdue in 2007.
